Piano Concerto Competition  2010


The MAMTA Piano Concerto Competition is open to students in grades 1 - 12.  
Contestants are grouped by grade level,  Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-9,  Grades
10-12, and perform one concerto movement from memory.

Please refer to the repertoire list. It is possible to use a concerto not listed.
Please contact the competition chairperson with questions.

RULES FOR THE COMPETITION:
The Concerto Competition is open to the public.
All concerto music must be memorized.
The student must have his/her own accompanist and a copy of the music for the
judge; photocopies are not acceptable. Please number all measures.
The judge may award winner, second place, and honorable mention(s) in each
category.
The judge has the option to award a tie or not to award a winner if he/she so
deems
Every participant will receive a written critique and a certificate.
First and Second Places perform their concertos again at the Winners Concert for
all the other contestants and their families and friends.  First and Second Places
also receive a gift certificate for Glenn's Music.
